S-01Explainer Videos

Explainer video production, script first

Most products lose people in the first thirty seconds of the pitch. An explainer buys you those thirty seconds back, but only if the script does the work before the animation does.

AWhy this way

The script is the deliverable

An explainer fails at the script, not the render. We spend the first week on your positioning: what the product replaces, who signs off, and what objection kills the deal. We will tell you when a video is the wrong fix for a messaging problem.

One producer, a specialist bench

A 2D character piece and a 3D hardware piece need different animators. Rather than force one in-house team to cover both, we cast from a bench of partner creatives per project. You still brief one person and approve one timeline.

Built to be re-cut

Every project ships with cutdowns and vertical crops as standard, because the 90-second hero cut is rarely the asset that gets the most use. Source files come with it, so your team can update a price or a screenshot without a new invoice.

BWhat ships

Everything in the delivery folder.

Included as standard, not quoted as extras once the project is already underway.

Script
Two drafts, written against your sales calls rather than your feature list.
Storyboard
Frame-by-frame boards with timing, so nothing is a surprise at animation stage.
Voice
Casting from a shortlist of three reads. Studio-recorded, licensed in perpetuity.
Animation
Full 2D or 3D build, sound design, and a licensed music bed.
Cutdowns
A 30s and a 15s cut, plus 1:1 and 9:16 crops for paid and social.
Source files
Project files, assets and a versioned handoff. You own the work.

CStyles

Four ways we build it.

We recommend one on the first call and tell you what it costs against the alternatives.

  • 2D motion graphics

The default. Fastest to revise, cheapest to update when the product ships a change.

  • 3D product animation

For hardware, and for software where a spatial metaphor earns its cost.

  • Whiteboard

Still effective for process-heavy and training explanations. Rarely for brand.

  • Screen-led

Real UI, animated. Closest to a demo. See product demo videos if that is the actual job.

EHow it runs

The same six stages, every time

  1. 01

    Brief

A 45-minute call and a written brief back to you the same week. We ask what the video is competing against for attention, who has to approve it, and what happens if it works. If a video is the wrong fix, this is where we say so.

    Day 1
  2. 02

    Cast

We assign the project from our partner bench: a director, an animator and an editor picked for this brief rather than whoever is free. You see who is on it and the work they have done before, not just a studio reel.

    Days 2–4
  3. 03

    Script

Two drafts. Written against your sales calls and your positioning, not your feature list. Nothing goes to storyboard until the script is approved, because every problem is cheaper to fix here than anywhere downstream.

    Week 1–2
  4. 04

    Board

Style frames and a timed storyboard. You approve the look and the beat structure before a single frame is animated or a crew is booked. This is the last cheap stage, and we use it properly.

    Week 2–3
  5. 05

    Build

Production or animation, sound design, grade and mix. You see a rough cut at the halfway mark rather than a finished film at the end, so notes land while they are still inexpensive to act on.

    Week 3–5
  6. 06

    Deliver

Master file, cutdowns, vertical crops, captions and source project files. Ownership transfers on delivery. The work, the assets and the licences are yours.

FQuestions

Explainer Videos, answered

A 60–90 second 2D explainer with an original script, licensed voice and full animation runs $3,400 to $12,000 at AllCapStudio. The spread comes from animation style and character work: screen-led and simple 2D sit at the lower end, custom character animation and 3D at the upper. Scripting alone is $900 if you already have an animator.
